Grand Lake was created in 1940 with the completion of the Pensacola Dam, the worlds largest multiple arch dam. Grand Lake has 59,200 square acres of water, 60 miles long, water level averages at 740 feet above sea level, and 1300 miles of shoreline.

Fishing is considered the #1 water sport on Grand Lake O' the Cherokees.
Largemouth bass, black bass, black and white crappie, white (sand) bass and catfish are all found in Grand Lake. Hybrid striped bass, flathead catfish, blue catfish, Mississippi white catfish, sunfish and paddlefish (spoonbill) are other species available. So get a guide and land a catch of a lifetime.

The Cherokee Queen

Gardens offers a unique and breathtaking tour for gardening enthusiasts
and those who simply enjoy the beauty of the great outdoors. The three-acre
botanical garden featuring over 1,500 different plants, is shaded by towering
oak trees and displays a variety of chamaecyparis, daylilies, and an enclosed
zen garden with 80 exquisite bonsai. Rhododendrons, azaleas, hostas, a cascading
stream with nine waterfalls, perennials, roses, and flowering trees are
found along the grass pathways.
